Ice Wonders is a European exchange project for young artists and people with an interest in the Fine Arts. In the ten-day long project 30 participants in the age between 18 and 30 came together in Dresden and trained in the artistic treatment of ice with the help from experienced ice-sculpture designers.

In daily workshops, the participants developed their knowledge and their abilities in the handling of ice blocks where, first of all, artistic abilities as well as the ability to work in teams were demanded. In a live workshop by the Goldener Reiter, the young artists presented their talent while creating magnificent ice sculptures in front of the public.

The live workshop and the subsequent exhibition were free for everyone to join, allowing for a dialogue between the artists and the public. Ice Wonders took place for the first time in March 2012 and gained much attention in the regional media.

Project venue: Dresden

Participating countries: Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Poland, Romania, Spain and Germany

This project was funded by the European programme YOUTH IN ACTION and Wir für Sachsen.
