Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V. – JKPeV is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation founded in Dresden in 2004. JKPeV designs, develops, implements and manages sociocultural projects that aim to bring a positive impact on the society on local, national and European level through cross-cultural, art and educational activities and events that strengthen human relationships, promote active citizenship and foster dialogue, diversity and mutual understanding.

 

The Position

 

The Project Assistant position will play a critical role in the smooth implementation of EU-funded projects (Erasmus+ Programme – Key Action 2 & 3, Europe for Citizens etc.). Strong organizational, research and content development skills and the attention to detail that the applicant brings, will be essential for the success and on-time delivery of the projects’ activities. Strong communication skills, experience in collaboration and partnership-based projects, positive energy and creative, analytical and independent thinking are required.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Doing research in various scientific areas (youth work, social inclusion and social integration, active citizenship, civic and adult education, entrepreneurship, sustainability and environment) including field work
  • Drawing up academic studies and publications in English and in German
  • Developing training and learning material for Face-to-Face and Distance learning in English and in German (Handbooks, Workbooks, lesson plans, WebQuests, podcasts, video presentations etc.)
  • Designing, preparing and delivering workshops in English and in German
  • Assisting in drafting speeches and presentations for participating in local and international activities
  • Preparing and delivering speeches and presentations in English and in German
  • Organizing events, workshops and mobilities
  • Disseminating the projects’ outcomes offline and online by presenting the results to local, national and international stakeholders in meetings and conferences and by developing digital content and by utilizing Social Media effectively
  • Attending, if necessary, specific training, conferences, seminars related to JKPeV’s projects
  • Supporting the project management team in implementing successfully certain project management processes (developing reports etc.) and in fundraising
  • Translating from English into German and vice-versa (excellent writing skills in English and German is a must)
  • Mapping and contacting suitable local stakeholders based on the subject of the project

 

Requirements

 

  • Academic background with a Bachelor and ideally a Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences & Humanities with focus on Adult Education. Certification in Adult Education and Training or in Train the Trainers will be considered as a strong asset
  • 3+ years working experience preferably in the field of Non-formal Adult Education and Training
  • Proficient in English (C2 level) and German (C2 level or native speaker)
  • Proven experience in the implementation of EU funded projects such Erasmus+ (KA2 & KA3), AMIF, REC, CREATIVE EUROPE, Europe for Citizens etc.
  • Excellent computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong presentation skills-preparation and delivery in English and in German
  • Strong communication and social skills in English and in German
  • Decision-making and leadership capabilities, with demonstrable experience
  • Solid, demonstrable organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Responsibility, consistency and adherence to strict deadlines
  • Agility and flexibility
  • Availability to travel within Germany and abroad in order to participate in project meetings, trainings, seminars and conferences
