Musical reading “Ich wand’re durch Theresienstadt” in Berlin and Strausberg

  |   Events, News

After a wonderful week of workshops in Berlin and Strausberg, we had the great honour of performing our musical reading “Ich wand’re durch Theresienstadt” on 7 December at the Lise-Meitner-Oberschule in Strausberg and on 8 December at the Urania in Berlin.
The actor Roman Knižka read from the works and memories of artists as well as children and young people who were imprisoned in Theresienstadt. The OPUS 45 wind quintet played compositions by Pavel Haas, Hans Krása, Viktor Ullmann and Gideon Klein, among others. The concerts also featured contributions by pupils from the previous workshops with the 9th and 10th grades of the Werner-von-Siemens-Gymnasium, the Gymnasium Steglitz, the Leibniz-Gymnasium, the Rheingau-Gymnasium and the Paul-Natorp-Gymnasium in Berlin, as well as the Lise-Meitner-Oberschule and the Anne-Frank-Oberschule in Strausberg. The performances were followed by detailed and pedagogically moderated post-performance discussions, in which our guests participated with keen interest and engaging contributions.
We would like to thank all visitors for their participation and the great feedback.
