About This Project

Capture Culture

09. – 18.11.2013

The project Capture Culture brought together architects, historians, photographers and film makers from seven different big European cities.

Together, the 35 participants tried to think of methods to bring new life to an empty and forgotten building in their city. Furthermore, the teams worked together in workshops in Dresden, between the 9th and 18th of November 2013, exchanged their experiences and developed a vision of how to give a new meaning to Schloss Übigau in Dresden.

In the exposition Capture Culture – Forgotten buildings (16.- 24.11.2013), the results of the project were shown in Kunsthaus Raskolnikoff: Seven forgotten buildings and the visions for their reutilization were given in photos, short films and texts.

Project venue: Dresden

Participating countries: Zagreb (Croatia), Toulouse (France), Thessaloniki (Greece), Sofia (Bulgaria), Napels (Italy), Hakkâri (Turkey), Dresden (Germany)

The project was funded by the EU-programme YOUTH IN ACTION and by Wir für Sachsen.
