Culture Jam Session & Concert – Hsiao-Han Grace Chuang @ KulturCentrale

Hsiao-Han Grace Chuang is performing with the Zheng instrument whicht originated in China and is a Chinese plucked string instrument. It has different modifications in different Asian countries. It is called Koto in Japan, Dan tranh in Vietnam, Gayageum in South Korea and Yatuoge in Mongolia. In other places in the world, this type of instrument has its relatives. In Arabic culture, it is called Kanoun. In the Western world, it is Zither which originated in ancient Greece.

In this music performance Hsiao-Han Grace Chuang will perform GuZheng pieces from traditional, pop and contemporary music. From this ancient musical instrument we can listen its beauty of history and we have in the same time the possibility to perform modern pieces.
